Sweet Southern Cornbread 

1 Cup Yellow Cornmeal

1 Cup All Purpose Flour

1 Egg

1 Cup Milk or Buttermilk 

1 teaspoon Salt

2 Tablespoons Honey

1/3 C Brown Sugar

1 t. Baking Powder

1/2 t. Baking Soda

1/2 C. Oil or Melted Butter 

Whisk together wet ingredients first. Add your dry ingredients to the wet and mix to combine. Allow the batter to stand 5 minutes before adding it to the cooking pan. You can cook this in a preheated greased cast iron pan or in a 9×9 glass dish. Cook at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Test with a toothpick in the center for doneness.
