Bread Machine Sourdough Sandwich Loaf

Description

Don't be intimidated by complicated sourdough recipes. Simply toss in your ingredients and let your bread machine do the work. Enjoy the tangy flavor and satisfying chew of sourdough, with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Add to your bread machine pan in this order: water, oil or butter, flour, sugar, salt, and sourdough starter. Use the bread mix or mix and knead (or similar) setting to mix up the dough. I like to do the mix once more to knead the dough again (optional). After mixing and kneading, turn the machine off and allow the dough to rise until it reaches nearly the top of the pan inside the machine. This will take anywhere between 4-6 hours. Once the dough has risen, use the bake feature of your machine to bake the bread. I like to use the "dark" setting to give the bread a nice crusty exterior like a store-bought sandwich loaf. Cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!
