Description
Crispy outside and custardy inside, french toast is an easy way to dress up that stale loaf and turn it into something yummy!
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Step One
Mix up all the custard ingredients using a whisk or blender. Pour into a shallow dish so that you can easily dredge the bread slices.
-
Step Two
Soak the bread slices in the custard. Allow them to sit in the mixture at least 30 seconds per side.
-
Step Three
Melt 2 tablespoons butter or ghee in a skillet or griddle heated to medium. Cook the soaked bread slices for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Remove the cooked french toast to a cooling rack. Serve warm with butter and warm maple syrup.
- French toast also makes a great breakfast meal prep. Follow all the same steps but cool the french toast slices completely before storing in an air tight container in the refrigerator or freezer.
- Reheat prepped French Toast by heating in the microwave, air fryer, or skillet.
